The weather forecast was good for Thursday 16th Sep 2021 and the sunshine throughout most of day reflected that. However, by the time 6pm arrived for our tech meet at Rouken Glen the rain was upon us.
Due to the weather we abandoned the idea of carrying out practical demonstrations. Nobody wants to crawl around on a wet car park. Do they? We went ahead with the meet nonetheless. Scotland is wet after all.
All things considered turnout was good. Only three Moggies made it, however a total of eight owners attended from all over the Glasgow area (several of them with Minors currently ’off the road’). One dog, a West Highland Terrier called Hamish, made it too.
The eight of us spent a relaxed hour or two discussing technical issues with our cars, picking the brains of the more experienced amongst us. A few humorous Morris Minor tales of woe were shared. Hamish enjoyed a little wander and a sniff of his fellow canines.
The endeavour award for this meet goes to Brendan, who skipped the first hour or so of his own birthday party to attend!
We now look forward to our fish and chip run next week.
