Lake District Weekender 9th-11th June 2023. We’ve talked about organising a weekend social run for some time now. Well, this year we are doing it.
The destination is the South Lake District and the historic market town of Ulverston.

The main attraction for the weekend will be a Saturday visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum. You may combine this experience with a lake cruise or heritage steam railway trip. The Lakeland Motor Museum have confirmed their club car park will be made available to us on arrival and we will receive a 10% discount on museum admission prices.



There are a number of other attractions in the area you may wish to see while you’re there. These include; the Conishead Priory, Hoad Monument, Stott Park Bobbin Mill, the Laurel & Hardy Museum, the Comedy Mill, the Ulverston Canal and the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation & Peace Centre. Itinerary
Friday 9th – 1030hrs June
Depart Glasgow Tollcross (just off M8).
We will drive south in convoy at a steady pace of around 50-55mph towards Ulverston, travelling via Keswick and stopping off at Windermere for a pub lunch. We should arrive in Ulverston for around 4pm.
The rest of the evening is yours to do with as you please, whether exploring the local area and/or meeting up with other owners for an evening pint in a local inn.
Saturday 10th June
1030hrs – Depart in convoy for a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum. After visiting the Museum there is the opportunity to return to Windermere for a spot of lunch, lake cruise or steam railway trip if you wish (subject to availability) combined tickets are available.
Thereafter we will return to Ulverston and the evening is once again hours to do with as you please.
Sunday 11th June
1100hrs – Depart in convoy back to Glasgow via the most direct route.
Booking & Further Information
You are responsible for booking your own accommodation tickets. If you cannot commit to the full weekend you are welcome to convoy down with us on the Friday and make your own way home on Saturday after the motor museum visit.
We recommend booking accommodation early to ensure good choice, availability and of course reasonable pricing. In most cases accommodation may be booked now for nil deposit, with pay later and a free cancellation option in case of unforeseen circumstances.
