Drymen Show 2023

On Saturday 27th May, Strathendrick Agricultural society hosted the 193rd Drymen Show in the Stirlingshire countryside. Report by Allan Methven.

Drymen Show 2023

Following a very successful gathering of vintage vehicles and tractors in 2022, we were determined to expand on this success by optimising our layout to accommodate additional entries from the local vehicle clubs and private entries.

With the support of Strathendrick Classic car and Sports Car Club, Glasgow Moggies, Scottish Western Thoroughbred Vehicle Club and private entries we had 26 vehicles scheduled to arrive. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen mechanical issues, we had 23 arrive on the day!

The vehicles had travelled from all areas of Glasgow, Stirlingshire and Argyll &Bute.

Again, we were blessed with sunshine and lots of visitors came to admire the vehicles and reminisce about when members of the family had the same vehicles.

We are very pleased announce to everyone that we were presented with a vintage Vehicle trophy, kindly donated by a member of the Strathendrick Agricultural society.

Following an extensive review by the Judge, Mr Jock Steele from Beith, the results were in, we had our winners.

Champion Vehicle of 2023 – 1956 MG TF
Reserve Champion Vehicle of 2023 – 1973 Jaguar E type V12 Roadster
Special Award 2023 – 1976 – Our very own Morris Minor “Poppy”

The day was concluded with a display of the vehicles and tractors in the main ring followed by the presentation of the Vintage Vehicle trophy to the proud owner of the MG TF!
