Sunburn & Showers

If you only had two words to sum up the inaugural Clarkston car show then sunburn and showers would be quite fitting.

Our entries

A little over a hundred vehicles attended the East Renfrewshire event, which was supported by live music and radio from the Pulse Breakfast Show 98.4FM and local craft stalls.

There was everything on show from early vintage cars, to modern supercars and emergency vehicles new and old. We were proud to have four of our Morris Minors and a Ford Cortina on display throughout the day.

Custom 1935 Ford, 5.7 litre

Our members enjoyed talking to individuals and other club members with different types of cars, the vast majority of whom were very friendly and happy to chat.

1953 Hudson Hornet – a stunning car.

The day was permeated with some very short bursts of rain, which tended to last for less than a minute but were heavy enough to have owners running for umbrellas.

Well attended by the local population throughout the day, even Charlie Chaplin stopped by.

The sun made a more prominent appearance than most had realised, with one member remarking upon his arrival home that he had “a heid like a well skelpt arse!”

We thank organisers, I Love Clarkston, for the free refreshments provided to all owners and a great day.

Finally, it was great to meet Darren (pictured below with his girlfriend Kirstin, adorable dog and father). Darren has generously helped the Glasgow Moggies with our current branding and clothing range. For this we thank him sincerely and we hope to see him again.
